Bing Webmaster Tools Launches New Update

Posted by: Mark Fitzpatrick

I just noticed that on Wednesday June 8th, Bing launched an update to it's Webmaster Tools. The update, called Honey Badger (and I thought some of the Android and Ubuntu version names were strange) adds a number of useful features such as the ability to change the crawl rate during peak business hours and adding pre-set crawl settings for sites that use AJAX. Also included are stability and UI updates as well as management tools to grant other users the ability restrict webmaster tools access to certain users or limit their visibility to only certain parts of a site. The latter feature is nice if, say, you have a group focused on just the marketing of a particular product or service on the site. Giving them access to all the data often leads to those individuals wanting to dip their fingers into someone else's pot and become unfocused on their tasks at hand.

If you haven't tried the Bing Webmaster Tools it's definitely a good time to give them a look. It has a similar featureset to the Google Webmaster Tools and to truly understand how your site is represented, and to see opportunities, it's good to not focus on just one search engine.

Give the Bing Webmaster Tools a try, it's easy to setup in a minute or less.
